Eraneos is certified for the CO2 Performance Ladder, the sustainability tool in the Netherlands that helps companies and governments to reduce CO2 emissions. Our goal is to halve our CO2 emissions by 2026 and to reduce them by at least 15% by 2024 compared to the previous year.
To achieve this, we have set several reduction targets that focus on different aspects of the organization, including the vehicle fleet, gas and electricity, and employee awareness.
Halfway through 2024, we are well on our way to achieving our goals. Below is an overview of where we stand.
Vehicle fleet
Electric lease cars
Every new leased vehicle must be electric so that we have an all-electric fleet by 2028. Our plans are on track and we are seeing a nice reduction in our gasoline and diesel consumption. In September, charging stations will arrive at our Groningen office to better serve our electric drivers in the north.
Promoting public transport
Since we moved to a new location last August, we are more accessible by public transport. We expect this to be visible in this year’s final figures. A working group has been formed to further promote the use of public transport and other sustainable transport alternatives.
Diesel phase-out
From July 2024, we will phase out all diesel cars.

Gas & Electricity
CO2 neutral offices
All our offices will be carbon neutral by 2030. By moving from Amstelveen and IJburg to the Passage last summer, our energy consumption has been significantly reduced. Our new location has an A++ energy label.
Motion sensors
In our Amsterdam office, all common areas are equipped with motion sensors to reduce power consumption when no one is present.
Employee Awareness
Improved business mileage tracking
Our mileage reporting process has been improved. Business mileage for private cars and air travel is now tracked.
More sustainable alternatives
- Lunch orders are placed locally with a sustainable supplier that delivers 100% electric. More efficient purchasing and use of products has reduced our food waste by 25%.
- We introduced The New Driving e-learning program to improve knowledge and understanding of safe and economical driving.
- The annual Impact Day is held in September: a day to raise awareness of sustainability within Eraneos.
